Wild Plastic- Eco-art Exhibition | Bat-Yam

The Israeli graffiti artist SeaForYourself together with other Israeli artists and HaGal Sheli invite you to a special Eco-Art exhibition designed to raise awareness to the damage of plastic consumption.  The show will exhibit sculptors, paintings, prints, and different pieces all concerning global environmental issues. Some of the works will be offered for sale- half of the revenues will be donated to HaGal Sheli and to environmental NGO’s.

Social Justice Party- HaDag Nahash and guest artists | Live Park- Rishon Letzion

HaGal Sheli, HaDag Nahash and friends invite you to join and party with us in the first Israeli social justice party. The concert is a result of a collaboration between HaDag Nahash band,  HaGal, and other non-profit organizations who are all working together to create a positive change in Israeli society. Come take part for a better and more equal society!

The T-sisters concert- The U.S Embassy and HaGal Sheli | Bat-Yam

The T-Sisters music band from California, accompanied by representatives of the US Embassy’s culture department arrived at HaGal Sheli’c center in Bat Yam to perform in front of our groups from Kfar Kassem and Shazar Bat-Yam. 
Prior to the concert the teens and the band held a meet-up and discussed co-existence, surfing and their multi-cultural experience at HaGal Sheli.

 

Young Mentors Seminar- from Trainees to instructors | Kfar Galim

In March of 2019, as in every year, the teens participating in the Young mentors program, went on a two days seminar in Kfar Galim. The seminar is the highlight of the teens training process where they officially become young instructors and start mentoring the younger groups at HaGal Sheli 

 

Purim Festival for HaGal Sheli Graduates "Purigal" 2019 | Bat-Yam

In Purim of 2019, we celebrated our traditional “Purigal” event where all of HaGal Sheli graduates and staff dress-up and surf in their costumes!
At the end of the event, we held a costume contest where the winner’s won surfboards! Happy Purim!

The Lighthouse Program Graduation Ceremony | Jaffa

On March 6, 2019 HaGal Sheli’s new surf center in Tel-Aviv-Jaffa, together with the Tel-Aviv Jaffa municipality, held a graduation ceremony for all the graduates of the Lighthouse program.

On March 5, 2019 HaGal Sheli’s surf center in Kfar Galim, celebrated the entrance of dozens of new teens into our graduation community.

"Festival of all Festivals"- HaGal Sheli" NGO and the German Embassy in Tel-Aviv, celebrating diversity | Bat-Yam.

 In December 2018 “HaGal Sheli” together with the German Embassy in Tel-Aviv held a celebration of equality and diversity. Deputy Chief of Mission to the German Embassy Mr. Georg Enzweiler honored us with his presence. We would like to thank our partners, at the German Embassy in Tel-Aviv for their support and for helping us achieve our goal – having a diverse and inclusive community at “HaGal Sheli”.

Celebrating 5 years of "HaGal Sheli", attended by the Minister of Education | Bat Yam

In July 2018 we celebrated “HaGal Sheli” fifth birthday at the Bat Yam beach amphitheater. The celebration was attended by the Minister of Education Mr. Naftali Bennett, the Mayor of Bat Yam Mr. Yossi Bachar, and other distinguished guests. The event was attended by about 500 people, including past and present instructors , participants, graduates, the families of the participants and the residents of the city. The Israeli Youth Softboard Championship 2018 | Tel Aviv-Yafo

During the month of August 2018, the Israeli youth Softboard championship was held at the Geula beach in Tel Aviv. The championship event was produced by “HaGal Sheli” in cooperation with the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality. Many of our friends from the surfing world took part, including the Israeli Surfing Association and Billabong. We Would like to thank all of you for coming. see you next summer!

Free Surfing Workshops For Bat Yam Residence | Bat Yam

During the summer of 2018, just like every summer, “HaGal Sheli” invited the youth of Bat Yam to attend free surfing workshops. The workshops were held every Tuesday during the months of July-August at 16:00, at the “HaGal Sheli” beach. Dozens of young people between the ages of 13-18 participated in the program and it was amazing. Thank you Bat Yam municipality for your cooperation and to all the participants as well.

“PuriGal” - a Purim and surfing celebration for the alumni community | Bat Yam

On Purim 2018, all the alumni of the foundation were invited to attend a huge Purim carnival on the beach and in the water – we surfed in our costumes, had fun activities and laughed a lot.

Carissa Moore - A Surfing World Champion visits "Hagal Sheli" | Bat Yam

Carissa Moore, 24 years old from Hawaii and a three-time World Champion, concluded her visit to Israel with an inspiring meeting at “HaGal Sheli” . “Do not be afraid to ask for help. Trust the wonderful team you have here, and most of all do not be afraid to fail. I fail and fall all the time. The journey is the most important thing – enjoy the ride” said Carissa at the end of the meeting. We were very excited, and hope to have more such meetings in the future.

The Israeli Youth Softboard Championship 2016 | Bat Yam

During the summer of 2016,  “HaGal Sheli” and the municipality of Bat Yam first produced the Israeli Youth Softboard championship – a surfing championship for amateurs. Over 1,500 guests and 150 contestants came to “HaGal Sheli” beach in order to celebrate the event. Prizes were awarded, courtesy of our friends and partners from the Israeli surfing world. It was wonderful!
